Anchored in Faith, Fuelled by Purpose: My Journey Through Transition

Over the past year—from July 2024 to June 2025—my life has felt like a series of wrecks and rescues. At the end of July last year, a difficult personal incident forced me to pause, reflect, and ask myself again: Whose am I? Why am I doing this work? That moment shook me to the core but also reconnected me to my purpose.

Leading Through the Storm

The months that followed demanded intentional leadership. I reminded myself of the responsibility I carry—not just for outcomes, but for people. For legacy. For impact. Life proved agile, unpredictable, and unapologetic in its shifts. By early 2025, I found myself mourning the end of my corporate career as I stepped fully into entrepreneurship. That transition was emotional, sobering, and transformative.

But through it all, I discovered something deeper: I am becoming a more balanced human being.

Spiritually Grounded

My spirituality has deepened. I’ve come to understand more fully that God alone is in charge of my life. That knowledge has been both freeing and grounding.

During my most fragile moments, Ephesians 4:6 became real to me. “Be anxious for nothing, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

But I’ve also learned that not everything comes just because I asked. Some things I asked for and received. Some things are simply not for me. Some things are a clear “no.” And many are “wait.” And so, I wait—still, and trusting—as Psalm 46:10 reminds me: “Be still and know that I am God.”

Intentional Living and Working

This season has taught me to manage expectations—with myself and with others. I’ve learned not to take things personally. Every story has at least two sides, depending on the lens through which it’s viewed.

As I grow my business, Percer, I’m learning how to be fully present, how to read the room, and how to align my values with the work I do. That means walking away from certain opportunities—even friendships—when they compromise who I truly am. It’s not easy, but authenticity matters more than applause.

Lessons in Self-Mastery

One of my greatest realisations this year has been: It’s not always about me. Life is happening all around us, but how I react, how I solve problems, how I care for my mental and emotional health—that’s on me.

Books have been my constant companions on this journey:

  • Revisited: I Am by Matt Fry, Trust by Iyanla Vanzant, The purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

  • New Discoveries: God is My CEO by Larry Julian, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, The Wealth Money Can’t Buy by Robin Sharma

The insights from these pages reshaped me. But the real turning point? A conversation with my mentor, where I had to articulate—boldly and honestly—my why. Why I exist. Why I serve. Why I lead.

Strength in Stillness and Sweat

Running and strength training have become more than just fitness routines. They are my reset buttons. On days when I could barely lift myself emotionally, a walk or jog would shift everything. Movement has literally saved me.

My Gratitudes

In this season of reflection, I’m grateful for:

  1. Grace – I am healthy, whole, and here. That alone is a miracle.

  2. The Lows – They’ve sharpened my appreciation for the highs.

  3. Community – Those who choose to sponsor me, pray for me, and advocate for me—thank you.

  4. Family – Still my anchor. Still my core.

  5. Opportunity – To do more. To be more. To serve through my skills. To coach, to mentor, and to leave people and places better than I found them.

What’s Next?

This next cycle is all about alignment and achievement. I’m chasing the goals I’ve set—focused, grounded, and open to the surprises God has in store. If the past year has taught me anything, it’s that grace is never wasted, and purpose is never lost.

A few questions I leave with you, dear reader:

  • What have been your turning points this past year?

  • Are you truly aligned with your purpose—or just performing a role?

  • What are you learning about yourself in the quiet moments?

  • What do you need to release in order to rise?

Until next time—remember to be joyful always.

Reading this, I’m reminded again why having you as a mentor is such a gift. Your journey shows us, as women in the marketplace, that it’s possible to lead with faith while building purpose-driven work, without losing ourselves.

Your honesty about transition, letting go, and aligning with God’s timing gives me courage to trust Him in my own journey. You remind me that grace is never wasted, and that authenticity matters more than applause.

Thank you for living what you teach. You are a gift to women who want to lead with faith, excellence, and wholeness.
